Knitting Session All Levels with Joanie Kintscher

and 4th Thursdays - 12:30 to 3:30pm

Beginning Knitting: Learn the basics then learn how to read a pattern, the different stitch combinations like garter stitch, ribbing, stockinette. When to use straight , double point or circular needles. Choose a simple pattern and we’ll get you started on a hat, shawl or whatever you choose!
Sock Class: Take all the worry out of sock making! It’s so much fun and what a wonderful gift for loved ones. We’ll break it down to the cuff, turning the heel and finishing with grafting.
Do you have a project that needs finishing? We can help you with that too! De-mystifying joining techniques and blocking.

This is such a fun class, learn to weave on our triangular loom even if you
are a beginner. You will get all the basic instruction and shop time to

Special Events
Friday May 23rd. Learn to spin using a drop spindle. You will use an inexpensive top whorl CD drop spindle and fiber provided by the instructor and included in the price of the class. If you have a niddy noddy, please bring it, also if you have your own drop spindle and don't know how to use it, bring that too.
September 13th & 14th: ** Date change for the Donna Sakamoto Crispin Basketry Workshop! We will be making a coiled, undulating seagrass basket approximately 8"x8"x8" using seagrass, iris leaves and day lily leaves to create a unique and unpredictable basket. Learn about gathering and preparation of natural materials.
Grower's Market Basket: Learn how
to plait and twine with round and flat reeds, making a rectangular basket approximately
10"x 10"x 6" with a sturdy wooden handle. We will add a
few rows of iris or lily leaves for contrast. You'll also learn the ancient
craft of making cordage.
The cost for this workshop is $75 plus materials. We need a minimum of
6 students to finalize this event so please register as soon as possible. For

National Spinning & Weaving Week is recognized at Llamas & Llambs each October with many demonstrators filling our lawn for this two day event.
